Insights from the inside
CONDIMONT separator studies allow a rapid understanding of fluid flow and mechanical integrity within a hydrocarbon separation train by making the process transparent. This approach significantly eliminates guesswork when trying to resolve process issues. It allows accurate data to be gathered, so engineering decisions on process improvement or repair can be made and implemented quickly.
A CONDIMONT Diagnostics Separator study can be used to detect oil in water, water in oil, gas undercutting or liquid carry-over. It can also identify the effect of blockages in perforated plates, flow distribution and accurately measure individual phase residence times, letting you increase production rates and lower costs. Tracer studies also provide information on separator performance. They help to establish residence time and distribution, carry-over, carry-under, and identify flow characteristics. Results allow plant personnel to identify problematic operations, maximize chemical usage and plan for modifications that increase efficiency.
CONDIMONT Scanner and Phase Finder reveal the liquid level, presence and height of any foam, oil and water interface position, extent of emulsion band, and the presence and extent of sand deposits in the vessel.
CONDIMONT Scanner will detect internal hardware issues, such as inlet device damage. The scans are carried out whilst the vessel is operating, so real-time information is obtained about how the vessel is performing at the current operating conditions.
Also, scanning results provide detailed information about the interface qualities. These can be used to assist in trials of anti-foaming, or emulsion-breaking chemicals, and can determine the best type and concentration to use.
Additionally, the CONDIMONT Phase Finder can be installed to accurately visualize the separator’s performance and achieve total multiphase control for process optimization.
